Thinking, as simple and easy it sounds, many do not
engage in it.Henry Ford stated that "Thinking is the hardest work there
is, which is the probable reason why so few engage in it." Thinking is one
of the greatest gifts God gave man, to be able to reason through his
actions, words and thoughts, thinking allows us to deeply scrutinize all what
comes into our mind before taking the necessary actions,so as to know the
outcome of these actions and thoughts even before they are practicalized. In
essence, it means that all our actions are consciously thought through, thus
making us duly accountable for all our actions in this life. Thinking is a form
of;
1.Evaluation
2.Assessment
3.Verification
When an idea,
action or perhaps something pops up in
our minds, we should make it a priority to Think through what ever it might be,
because Thinking will help us Evaluate, Asses and Verify our actions before we
even put them into practice. Thinking through issues is more like conducting a
Market or Business analysis, it gives you insights to what you are up against
so as to order you steps and help you rethink an action if necessary. And just
as in businesses, Thinking through issues should not only be done before taking
the right action or step, but also after the action has been taken, it is
equally important to Think through the outcomes,Processes and what the other
parties involved might be feeling about that action or step. Thinking also
helps us avoid obvious mistakes, hurts and complications. Thinking is a
systematic process of passing your ideas or actions through an "X-ray
scanner"(series of reasoning), helping you know in detail what those ideas
or actions are composed of. It is almost like taking a scan of a pregnancy even
before birth to know the sex of the baby and its health.
Thinking is not only important to our idea
generation, but also to our health. Thinking is a way of getting your mind up
and doing, it keeps your mind alert and sharp, it helps reduce the chances of
forgetfulness which is common with old age.
Every idea should be treated as if it were the last
of it's kind, as if everything depends on that idea(s). Value every thought and
idea(s) that may come your way, because those ideas can either make or break
you in a way or another. The Bible states clearly in Proverbs 23:7 that, ”As a
Man thinketh in his heart, So is he.” . We should be able to realize that out
of every thought or idea(s), comes an action or a step, now this step or action
might lead to something great or in some case, something really bad. Below is a
little something that got me thinking, perhaps it will help ignite the thoughts
in you.
"Having a backup plan is very very important in
most aspects of our lives, for instance, in your business, competitions,
academics, you name it. With all its importance, there are just something's in
our lives that doesn't need us having a backup plan. Things such as giving ones
life to Christ, marriage, being a parent to your children, doing whats morally
right, among a host of other things. Having a backup plan in these areas only
means our willingness and readiness to fail. We are to go into such areas with
the intention to win. In fact winning is our last and only option. I strongly
believe most marriages and families are failing because most of us go in with a
backup plan, which only gives room for failure. Having a Plan B Can be a
distraction to Plan A"
I strongly recommend all to have some time to them
self, take sometime off your busy schedule to just think about what you might
have done during the day, family, life and most importantly about how great God
has been to you. Perhaps it might even help you relax and take off some stress.
Nature is a very strong tool that can aid us think. Know what you are thinking
about.
"We are what we think. All that we are arises
with our thoughts. With our thoughts, We make our world" Buddha.
“Poirot," I said. "I have been
thinking."
"An admirable exercise my friend. Continue it.”
― Agatha Christie, Peril at End House
Declaimer:
Too much of everything can be Bad, except Having faith and trusting
completely in God.
